BlackBerry introduces the Blackberry Leap

BlackBerry took the opportunity at Barcelona to introduce the BlackBerry Leap, a mid range touchscreen mobile phone targeted at youths, especially "career-building" young professionals. The phone has a 5-inch screen that provides 720p resolution with a pixel density of 294ppi. BlackBerry Leap is powered by Qualcomm's 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus and mated with 2GB of RAM. Phone storage is 16GB with microSD expansion slot for microSD card of up to 128GB. The rear camera is 8MP, capable of taking Full HD 1080p videos while the front camera is 2MP unit. The phone uses a 2800mAh battery that last 25 hours with heavy usage. The BlackBerry Leap uses the BlackBerry 10.3.1 OS. The BlackBerry Leap will be available starting next month in Europe with a price tag US$275 or about RM999. On another note, BlackBerry is now rolling out its latest 10.3.1 software update to current BlackBerry 10 devices. This includes its older BlackBerry Z10, Z3, Z30, Q5, Q10, Porsche Design P’9983 and the latest BlackBerry Passport.
