I kinda like budget smartphones because it gives ordinary folks a chance to access the internet on the go. It levels the playing field. But Microsoft's latest Lumia phones offers something I've never heard before; budget phablets. The Lumia 640 and 640 XL is powered by Qualcomm's 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200. The phablets have 1GB RAM and 720p resolution screens. Being Windows phones, both devices will soon be upgradable to Windows 10 once available as well as a year's subscription for Office 365. But the best part must surely be the 1TB OneDrive cloud storage for the phones. The Lumia 640 screen is 5-inch with an 8MP camera while the 640 XL is 5.7-inch with 13MP camera. Battery capacity for the 640 is 2500mAh and the 640 XL 3000mAh. The Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL are expected to be released in May this year.
