Microsoft announced that it will release Windows 10 in the middle of this year to 190 countries and in 111 languages. No actual date was mentioned. Windows 10 was announced in October last year and was the first Windows to involve beta testers pooled from the general public. The Windows 10 is also a watershed software meant to mend flaws inherent in its previous Windows 8 and patch the system's gap between desktop PCs and newer mobile devices such as the smartphones and tablets. Microsoft also said in an event in Shenzhen, China that the company will work with a handful of Chinese companies, namely Lenovo, Tencent and Qihoo 360, to offer free upgrades to Windows 10. In another partnership, Microsoft is teaming up with Xiaomi to offer selected Xiaomi Mi4 users Windows 10 on their devices. System wise, the Mi4 is a powerhouse, capable of running graphic intense games flawlessly. The partnership is seen as a smart and logical move for Microsoft to expand its platform adoption and emerging Chinese brands could prove to be the catalyst for Microsoft to succeed in an ever vicious industry.
