Samsung on Sunday unveiled two new phones to the Galaxy S series, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Confirming earlier rumours, the S6 Edge is a dual edge screen smartphone while the S6 is a normal flatscreen smartphone and both phones sport 5.1 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED 577PPI screen respectively. In the unveiling, Samsung also boasted wireless fast charging for the phones. In 10 minutes of charging, both phones are capable of up to 4 hours of battery usage. The phones are also of 64 bit architecture and packs 3GB DDR4 RAM. Storage wise, there are 3 variants; the 32GB, 64GB and the 128GB. And as for the cameras, selfie lovers are going to love the 5MP front facing camera with real-time HDR. Rear camera provides a whopping 16MP resolution with optical image stabilization. But the real surprise of the day is the introduction of Samsung's very own mobile payment system, the Samsung Pay. Although Samsung Pay is a reaction to Apple Pay, Samsung Pay allows mobile payment using the NFC and MST systems, the later of which uses magstripe readers. So far, Mastercard, American Express, Bank of America, Chase and Citibank are just a few of the banks committed to the Samsung Pay. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is available for sale next month on April 10th and comes in 5 colours; White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz (Galaxy S6 only) and Green Emerald (Galaxy S6 edge only).
